GUIDE TO FAILURE

In the business plan

Incorrect approach:

"The estimated number of visits to our system is 200,000 per year, we need a million-dollar infrastructure to support it."

Correct approach:

In the speed of execution

Incorrect approach:

"The competition takes us many months of advantage in the technological positioning and starts to be a differentiating factor, we must reach them at all costs."

Correct approach:

If the competition is in a technological point, it will also have suffered course changes, problems and disappointments. If you try to compress the evolution time, you will also encounter all the problems together. Define a multi-month strategy by clearly identifying priorities.

In the selection of products

Incorrect approach:

"This product is the solution to our problems; this product will help us define the business processes."

Correctapproach:

You must define the processes in your business (without IT). Then you must select a product in which you can automate and simplify, not the other way around.

In the selection of personnel

Incorrectapproach:

"I want to have this person because he is a friend of mine or family member and he deserves all my trust."

Correctapproach:

The personnel involved in a company must be the best possible and personal relationships must be avoided. If not, sooner rather than later, you will have problems in your template. Inbreeding is one of the biggest problems in organizations. Make sure that new blood enters your organization, people who also know how to smile.

In the selection of service providers

Incorrect approach:

"I want this solution within 8 months and the quantity and quality of the personnel used is the supplier's problem."

Correct approach:

Validate all the candidates who will participate in the projects. Establish deliveries, even if they are documentary, in maximum periods of 1.5 months, using agile methodologies that provide visibility and transparency to the project.

In the definition of schedules

Incorrect approach:

"This person is not involved because he does not stay, like the others, until 9 at night."

Correct approach:

The health of a company depends on the health of its employees. A person must feel developed inside and outside of work to be a proactive and useful resource. If not, it will lower the implication and increase the frustration of histemplate.

In the definition of your corporate image on the Web

Incorrect approach:

"Our Web must have the most innovative design, that recognize us as a company that makes the point."

Correct approach:

When entering your site everyone must see clearly what it sells, not moving objects. Design must be a means, not an end.

In the definition of priorities

Incorrect Approach

"I want everything working within 10 months."

Correct approach:

The market opportunity does not wait. Your business will have essential and secondary elements (although they may also be vital). Try to get them up and running as soon as possible and add new functionality as possible, without forgetting that the essential strategy for the viability of your company is defined in the medium and long term.

In the growth

Incorrect Approach

"We must grow at all costs even if it means increasing risks."

Correct approach:

Clearly, nothing ventured nothing gained, but the risks must always be very bounded. People have a tendency to grow because of the obsessive need to demonstrate to ourselves how far we can go.
